Soul Sync with Jason Paul

Power On: The Spacesuit, the Soul & the Present Moment

Jason Paul Season 6 Episode 3

I’m Jason Paul - spiritual medium, that's freshly out of the podcast spiritual closet so to speak. In this episode I share the simplest truth I’ve been circling for years: you are the power. Not the polished “spacesuit” Ram Dass talks about - you, the soul inside it. I open up about recent shifts in my mediumship (thank you, Eileen Davies), why I used to over-engineer “the power,” and how I’ve learned to feel it rather than think it. We explore meditation without the pressure cooker, the love vs. fear “bracelet” exercise that rewired my thoughts, and a gentle practice to literally say “power on” and sense your energy rise - then “power off” to feel the contrast.

If you’ve been chasing answers, upgrades, or milestones and still feel off-track, this is your invitation to sit in your own current, listen, and let your soul lead. I don’t have all the answers (I don’t want to) - but I do have stories, evidence, and a heart for helping you remember what you already know. Dive in, flick the switch, and let’s journey together - raw, real, and rooted in the spirit world.

Soul Sync Podcast — Episode: Power, Meditation & The Spacesuit

Speaker: Jason Paul (Host)
Recording Date: 21 September 2025

Intro

Jason:
Hello and welcome to the Soul Sync Podcast. I’m Jason Paul—spiritual medium and a guide to help you on your journey. I used to call myself a “developing” medium, but you know what? I’m a medium. I’ve been on this path all my life, and more intentionally for the last four years.

This space is real, raw, and always connected to the spirit world—because spirit wants to help you on your path. I’m here to bring through words of love and encouragement and to speak from the soul as we explore consciousness, truth beyond the noise of the mind, and the limits of the “spacesuit” we wear. We’ll get to that spacesuit metaphor in a moment.

I don’t have all the answers—honestly, very few—and I’m not here to pretend I do. I’m curious, learning, and nourishing my soul as I go. Wherever you are right now, let’s come together and see where spirit and consciousness want to take us today.

A Week of Shifts in Mediumship

Recently I’ve had some wild shifts in my mediumship. Normally I do one seven-day course a year at Arthur Findlay College—a unique hub for the advancement of psychic sciences and mediumship. This year spirit nudged me into three courses within sixteen weeks.

One course was with the brilliant Eileen Davies (trained by greats including Gordon Higginson). The last week especially, my clairvoyance has opened—everything more vivid. My readings, my cards, even messages from my grandad: all pointing to change. We’ll unpack that change in a future episode.

Today’s Theme: The Present Moment, Meditation & “The Power”

I’ve been searching for “the power” for years. By “power” I mean the essence of our soul—the energy that is us. I always understood that I am the power… but truly knowing it is different.

Interviewing respected mediums taught me that everyone describes power differently. Paul Jacobs spoke about going within; others talk about building the inner light and expanding the aura. I got lost in techniques—pushing my aura, bracing for something to happen—until I needed to step away for a year to grow.

Spirit gave me sign after sign to restart this podcast. People I’d never met approached me, “I recognise you—I listened to your podcast.” Four separate mentions in one week. That was more than a sign; it was a kick up the backside: Get out of the spiritual closet, Jason. Speak.

Roots & Real Talk

I grew up with loads of love but modest means. My mum had me at 18; we lived in B&Bs for a time. Secondary school in Kent was rough—bullied for “sounding posh,” and for being gay. That history shaped me.

This week on VerySoul (a practice platform for mediums founded by Sally Hawk—there’s an episode with her), I had a striking experience. Half an hour before a reading—yes, in the bath—a “Colonel” energy arrived (think Elvis’s manager vibes). Old “technical me” would’ve dismissed it because the reading hadn’t “started.” Emotional medium me acknowledged it. In the sitting, the evidence landed powerfully. I flowed for seven minutes; the sitter could take it all. Spirit then said, “That’s all I want to say—loud and clear.”

In my return reading, my grandad came through, and so did my nan—vividly. We had a complicated relationship, and I often resist when she steps in. This time, she said she’d step back until I was ready to release the emotion. That mirrored what I’m reading: David R. Hawkins’ Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender—his map of consciousness has been hugely clarifying.

Emotions, the Mind & Rewiring

Hawkins teaches that many of us suppress or repress emotions; they then lodge in us. Pair that with work like Gabor Maté’s ideas on how the body carries unprocessed stress (I referenced The Body Keeps the Score conceptually), and you see why letting go matters.

On Eileen Davies’ course we used a simple “positivity band” exercise:

  • Every thought is either love or fear.
  • Wear a rubber wristband.
  • Each time you notice a fear-based thought, move the band to the other wrist.
  • Do this for 21 days to help rewire patterns.

Day one for me? Constant swapping. By day five? Almost still. It made my thought patterns visible—and changeable.

Meditation (Simple, Not Precious)

Meditation is about quieting the mind in a world of dopamine overload. I used to tell myself “I can’t meditate” (ADHD brain, racing thoughts, anxiety spirals). Recently, I feel more in charge of my thoughts.

What I use now:

  • Silence or gentle frequencies/binaural beats (no voiceovers).
  • Short, consistent sits over heroic marathons.
  • A future episode will cover morphic fields (I use Morpheus Fields on YouTube, and also their premium tracks)—they deserve their own deep dive.

The Ram Dass “Spacesuit” Analogy

This changed everything for me. When we’re born, our soul arrives in a spacesuit—our body. We’re taught to operate it: eating, walking, talking. But the suit isn’t you. You’re the astronaut inside.

Most of us forget. We polish, compare, upgrade the suit. We think we are the suit. We aren’t. The soul is what continues. Ask yourself: where am I living as the suit rather than the soul?

Turning the Power On (A Mini Practice)

Your power is your energy—your soul’s current. Sitting in it, raising it, and letting it quicken opens the doorway to guidance that’s already within you.

Try this:

  1. Sit quietly. Place both hands over your heart.
  2. Say (out loud or inwardly): “Power on.”
    • Notice any shift—quicker vibration, presence, warmth.
  3. Say: “Higher energy now.”
    • Sense the subtle change.
  4. Then: “Power off.”
    • Feel the contrast.

Repeat this in your own time; it trains your awareness of your baseline energy. Over time, you’ll distinguish your energy from another’s (psychic work), and then from the spirit world’s (mediumship).

Alignment, Soul Plan & Why Stuff Hurts

We each arrive with a soul plan—lessons, growth, experiences. My business scaled fast; I chased milestones, cars, money—and felt empty. The happiness didn’t arrive because I was out of alignment. The dark nights—psychosis, addiction, domestic abuse, tough years in the police—became compost for purpose.

If you’re in a hard chapter, I get it. You may not want metaphysics—totally fair. But in my experience, the passage through pain grows the soul. Ask: What is this trying to teach me? Not to bypass the pain—just to listen for its message.

Closing

The power isn’t in the spacesuit—it’s in the soul. You don’t take the suit with you; the soul continues. So don’t take the suit too seriously.

This week: flick the switch back on and notice your energy.

I’ll be sharing more raw conversations—my journey, guests’ journeys, spirituality, and plenty on the spirit world and mediumship (my happy place). I love guest suggestions and topic ideas—email me anytime.

Thank you for being here. I’m Jason Paul, and this is Soul Sync. Until next time—power on.
